In Uttar Pradesh, the voting was held on 30 January 2023 for the election of three graduate and two teacher quota seats in the Legislative Council. Voting took place till 4 pm and the three block graduate seats of the Legislative Council include Gorakhpur-Faizabad block graduate, Kanpur block graduate and Bareilly-Moradabad block graduate seat. 6.32 lakh voters cast their votes for it.

The counting of votes for the elections held on 30 January 2023 for five seats of UP Legislative Council teacher and graduate is going on on Thursday 2 February 2023. In this election, a contest is considered between the BJP and the Samajwadi Party. The voting was held in 17 districts for five seats and a total of 63 candidates are in the fray for five seats of Legislative Council.
However, there is a close fight between the BJP and the Samajwadi Party on all the five seats. Congress and BSP have not fielded their candidates. However, many independent candidates have entered the election field, due to which the contest has become interesting. BJP has claimed that the party will win all the seats of Legislative Council graduate teacher MLC.
